Hello!
Please use this thread to report any typos or errors in Chapter 8 - The Loremaster in the Alpha PDF of The One Ring core rulebook. Guidelines to remember:
  • Before reporting an error, please check and see if it already has been reported, and if so, don't report it again.
  • If you want to discuss or feedback something that is not a clear error, don't do it here - instead, please start a new forum post the specific issue.
  • Please report your feedback no later than July 20. After this date, we are unlikely to be able to make any further changes.
Thank you!

This is not an error a such but a wish.
Could name/title of Adversaries and stat block be on the page/spread, so you don't have to flip a page?
Like "Goblin Archer" page 149 and stat block on page 150.
and "Great Cave-Troll" on page 151 and stat block on page 152.

I believe it will make it easier to find when flipping through book/pdf.

I highly support this as well.

On Adversaries individual enemies layout. A GM/DM etc might wish to print/copy these and mark off lost Endurance and Resolve/Hate during combat. A wounds marker or dots might be useful as well.
To facilitate these could you look at changing the layout of text and red diamonds for each adversary so that attributes/figures have more space to allow changes to be easily noted in pen/pencil?

Maybe something like Attribute Level / Parry and Armour on the top row and the 3 figures that can change (Endurance, Might and Hate/Resolve) on the second line with space in between to note changes...

Also could you do one weapon/attack type per line under Combat Proficiences for easier reading.

Page 134, "POISON" paragraph, last sentence:

[...] the roll loses (1d) of the poison is Severe, and loses (2d) if Grievous [...]

1) Pretty sure the bolded of should be if instead;
2) It's not clear what is lost ("[...] loses (1d) [...]"); is it Endurance? It should be specified.

Page 170, Shadow Gain reads, "Whenever a Player-hero gains 1 or more Shadow points outside of combat increases the Eye Awareness level by an equal amount."
Should either be "Any time a Player-hero gains 1 or more Shadow points outside of combat increases the Eye Awareness level by an equal amount."

or

"Whenever a Player-hero gains 1 or more Shadow points outside of combat, increase the Eye Awareness level by an equal amount."

What’s the target difficulty to roll against for a shadow test?

I see that Eye of Mordor is basicaly copy from 1e. That and this version as rules don't work in larger groups or experienced groups which have couple of high elfs etc. Rules just brake and you need to home rule the situation. Example: our group 2 high elfs, Dunedain, human and dwarf - thats 10. All are 4+ wisdom or valour - 5 more. At least 5 famous items among them - 5 more. That's 20. In larger groups it could be even higher or more items later. To my understanding rule should work always, now it brakes at this point. Because Revalation happens imediately when you leave Sanctuary and reset to the same number and happens again :). You need to than think about additional rules.
This needs to be changed to cover all party progression from begining to the end. In AIME version this worked as it should be because it was based on growing TN which you need to beat every time it grows. We home rule it also like that in 1e TOR.
Please review AIME edition variant and adapt it to TOR because static numbers track doesn't work.
Or more complex variation of individual hunt score for every party member and they recieve individual Revelation episodes (like Frodo had and Sam not) and if more than half of the party through Adventure gets those there's a party Revelation.

THE LOREMASTER Chapter 8
Page 126 Column 1 HANDLING SCENES (line 1)
Isn't it described in Chapter 6 rather than chapter 5?

Page 126 Column 1 HANDLING SCENES (line 5)
please "CENTRE" not "center" { Many apologies to those West of the Atlantic Ocean}

Page 126 Column 2 (last two lines of Running the Game)
add the word "up" after the word "wrapping it "

i.e.
"Finally, the Loremaster advances the gameplay, either
further developing the current scene, or wrapping it up
and proceeding to frame a new one."
