Re: Resources for Creating Adventures

Lol. It's just what I like to do. I make custom sheets for every game I've ever ran or played in. It helps me learn the rules. Same with the cheat sheets. They are partially a tool for my players to reference instead of grabbing books, but they also reinforce the concepts in my brain.

It's a day's work that is also a day's fun ;D
This, exactly. I just spent the last few days creating my own cheat sheets for the same reasons. (They're posted in a separate thread modestly titled "Stylish handouts for new players" :D)

Hey guys, I've reworked the Renown homebrew rules originally by Richard Harrison for use in 2nd ed. I've also created a nice LaTeX template for creating these documents, but its not quite ready for general release (I'm trying to make it as user friendly as possible). Take a look and tell me what you think!

Also, made some adversary sheets for GMs making their own creatures or converting 1st ed ones for their table. The Basic has 4 spots for creatures but no room for characterization or background info, while the Deluxe only has room for 2 creatures, but has a section for general description and background information.

EDIT: someone pointed out that I didn't include Resolve options. I have now rectified that and also added a background while I was messing with it. I have included all of the sheets as a 4 page PDF (1 of each type), and another 4 page pdf with the BG, in case some people prefer the noBG version for easier printing.

Without Background: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Hi2EXb ... sp=sharing

With Background: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11WrZLm ... sp=sharing

Or, if you want them as individual sheets still, I have zipped them for ease:

Without Background: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i1qogg ... sp=sharing

With Background: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1C2Bqvy ... sp=sharing

EDIT: Also, in case people are interested, according to my eyedropper tool, the red color in the books is #C6463A and the brown is #614F3D. The lighter color red used as the table BG is #EDE7E2, and the off-white color in the tables is #FBFAF8.

Holding rules, originally by Sophisticated Games in the Darkening of Mirkwood supplement, and greatly expanded on by Richard Harrison, Jacob Rodgers, and David Rea, reworked and updated for 2nd edition.

Are these official, or should I print them out and keep them separately? I really like them and find them an appropriate component. I have one player who would really love to RP this to no end!

They are not in anyway official, although they are based on systems that were part of 1e that no longer exist in 2e. I have tried to make very clear that these are not entirely (or even mostly) my own work, and are instead updates to homebrew from 1e. As for printing them out, that's what I did with the originals back then :D.

This one took me longer than the others, because I ultimately changed it more. Structurally I felt the like old document was unwieldy and so I sought to edit that into a better form, and I also reduced the complexity of language acquisition by reducing the number of ranks from 7 to 4. Is it less simulationist? Yes, but I think it fits better within the TOR rules, while the previous felt more like a copy-paste from a more complex system (maybe it was from MERP, I honestly never played it, so I do not know).

Oh, also, because it was released out there but not included in this thread, here is an attempt at the journeys log book. Just trying to keep all the resources here in one place. This is not my work, but that of ninjacondor13.
