Cloth Maps

Wed 05 May 2021, 19:57

I am really on the fence about the cloth maps - mostly because of the price.

I am pretty sure I am getting one as a gift for a big Tolkien fan, and then maybe I will get one myself for use in playing the game.

Which map do people here imagine is better as a gift - The Shire, or Eriador, and which is better when playing? I am sure they will look good on the wall, but is a cloth map a good play aid or just a costly gimmick?

Bonus: Do you have any suggestions for stickers or similar that can be used for landmarks on the cloth map which will not fall off easily, but can be removed without leaving glue on the map?

If your friend is a big fan of The Hobbit then I'd definitely consider purchasing the map of the Shire as a gift, but either would probably be fine. If you get only one of them for gaming then the map of Eriador would likely be the most useful of the two. I plan on framing my maps when I get them. They'd go great on the wall with my poster map of Middle-earth.
