Rules Question

Thu 20 Jan 2022, 23:23

The promotion roll on page 31 of the Player's Guide for gaining a specialty is an "unmodified skill roll" does this mean that you don't include the die for the stat associated with that skill?
Also, "If you roll a specialty you already have, choose any specialty you want instead." is that just from the list form that term or can you choose from the full list?
Its all fun and games till someone casts fireball in the corridor.

An unmodified skill roll is just a skill that you haven't modified by any means, you still roll both the base dice or just one if you don't have skill level D+.

If you roll a specialty you already have you can choose any specialty you want, not just those on the d6 list.

If you roll a specialty you already have you can choose any specialty you want, not just those on the d6 list.
This is required for specialties that make sense for the career but didn't make the cut for the d6 list. For example, this is the only way to get Vehicle Gunner or Diver at character creation.
