Feedback - Beta Maps/Tokens

Thu 29 Apr 2021, 18:18

Civilian 01/06 is armed with an MP5. See, you shouldn't have dumped that from the weapons charts ;)

Please add a comment to the map pdfs with recommended scaling for using 15mm (1/100) and 25mm (~1/60) minis. Because we have Team Yankee and the like. (Note: I think the former is ~400%)

The addition of the Legend to the travel maps is great. I'd like to suggest adding in small text, from page 138 of the players manual, (or something to the gist of this):
"Note that the terrain type for the entire hex for game purposes is determined by the center dot of the hex on the map."

I missed that detail on my first read-through and was a bit confused about how to handle it. So I feel like adding to the map legend so both the ref and the players can see it would clear things up.

Missed that part entirely. Was just wondering what the dots were for when looking over the maps.

Now we definitely need that hex overlay as a separate file so we can make our own maps. Trying to pull the version from the PDF layers doesn't give a clean grid
I do this in real life for fun on the weekends. #SurviveOmega #DoMoreWithLess

Would it be possible to have a map of only grass as well, like the bottom layer of one of the maps? A map like that would be easy to populate with rocks/forest/foliage on your own while on a VTT but would still have the same aestethic as the official ones.
Please.

There are two yellow dots covering Motala and Linköping on the travel map I just downloaded. Seems out of place and doesn't show on the legend.

Try open it in another reader. There is a layer that is shown that shouldn't (some readers do that).

Separate image files for grids, ground layers and terrain elements would be amazing for community created maps. I had a go at making a straight river section with loads of copy-paste and cloning tool. But having an empty background and separate elements to add in would make it much easier, same with the grid.

I agree. I've made tiles out of hexes with foliage, forest, ruins and rubble but a clean grass or burned background would be nice.

@Fenhorn, I'll give it a try if I do have other readers.
