Beta - Close Combat & Reliability

Thu 22 Apr 2021, 08:30

When you push your roll in combat, each 1 reduces the reliability of the weapon by one, or if you are fighting unarmed the PC.

Q. Does this damage to reliability carry over to the PC if reliability goes below zero in one of the players turns. For example, a beer bottle has a reliability of 1, I roll two 1s when pushing the roll, the reliability of the bottle is now -1 (can’t see anything in this para that states the reliability cannot go below zero) does any damage below zero carry over to the PC. This would make sense from a narrative standpoint, bottle breaks cuts PCs hand.

Players Manual Chapter 4 Page 62
If your weapon breaks in an attack, it does so after the attack is resolved. Read more about damage to gear and repairs on page 91.
This seems to imply that you end that attack, deal the damage to enemy, then your weapon breaks. So you will not be unarmed during your attack, thus you don't receive damage. This was the closest I could find about this situation.
