Roll20 support

Thu 14 May 2020, 10:14

Hei og hello.

My group is currently playing a Traveller: New Era campaign over Roll20, and wonder if there will be any community dedicated adapt Twilight: 2000 to Roll20 now.

Let's just say Roll20 didn't have GDWs system in mind when they created the platform :D

I've periodically kept my eye on Roll20's T2K offerings and, while anemic, I agree that it'd be huge. It's a niche game, so a lot of folks playing may be doing so over those kinds of platforms and anything that can make that less painful would be appreciated! :)

Agreed, I would prefer to play this over Roll20 or something similar.

Systems. GDW used 3 different systems...
d100 for 1E, with very math heavy not-so-traveller-like Character Gen
GDW House Engine d10 version for 2E, with a fairly traveller like character gen. (Also used for Cadilacs & Dinosaurs)
GDW House Engine d20 version for 2.2E. (This was also used for at least later printings of Dark Conspiracy, and modified into Traveller: The New Era)

Combat flow is different for the three, tho' the weapons, pen and damage rules and char gen are the same for 2.0 and 2.2.
Some would argue that 2.0 and 2.2 are the same system... I don't agree.

Then there was the flop of 2013...

I am also hoping there is some Roll20 support, as due to 2020 I have almost 500 hours on time in on my account with the various games I am playing and running. Also I was sad that 2013 did not due better as once I made an Excel sheet for character creation and playing my group and I had a blast with it.

All that said I hope we get Alpha soon so we can start messing with Roll20.

I was actually more hoping for fantasy grounds support. my group and I just invested into an ultimate copy for unity and I was really looking forward to playing a campaign with them on it.

I'm also hoping that we see continued VTT support. I'm a Fantasy Grounds user exclusively, but the more platforms supported, the better for Free League games.

Roll20 already has character sheets for a number of Year Zero engine games so I would expect one to be added for this version of Twilight 2000. Whether that is fan created or official or not I don't know but there are fans creating them already I believe.
