Explosives are underpowered?

My character throws a grenade and it lands at Close range of the target, but only has 67% chance of doing 1 point of damage. Why bother, when my character can just shoot to deal the same damage... and ammo is a lot cheaper than grenades!
Shouldn’t explosives be more deadly ?

We had some thoughts on this in an early episode of the Coriolis Effect, i’ll dig them out. But the first thought is, if you are using grenages against people, you should be using anti personnel, shrapnel grenades, which deal damage 2 and crit on 1 extra success

So it was not as early an episode as I thought, rather Season 2 Episode 3
