I need some help figuring out the logistics and practicalities of penetrating a Bison ship, through an EVA operation, while the ship is docked to a space station. I’m a bit dumb when it comes to tech and such, and I haven’t read any of the tech manuals and blue print books either, so… help? (I think perhaps @_ArthurDallas_ could offer some insights here, seeing as he's a ship designer and all )
Here’s the scenario. You’re a terrorist – well-armed, strongly motivated, capable, and have access to specialist tools and everything – and you need to take over that Bison ship, currently inhabited by only a handful of crewmembers while it’s docked to the space station where you’re roaming. You can’t walk up to the docking door and knock, but you need that ship so… an EVA take-over it is! Through where can you gain access to the Bison and what would it entail?
Hopefully, you can get to the ship and penetrate it without raising any alarms, but that might be too tall an order; you’re comfortable with fighting your way in if need be. You’re also comfortable with just cracking the ship open and let space take care of the people inside, as long as it’s possible to repair the damage and get going. Actually, in your crazed, fanatical mind, the fate of all of humanity depends on you gaining access to and taking hold of that ship! Did I mention that you’re motivated?
I don’t know how many entrances there are to a Bison, but I assume the following:
--all cargo bays have external entrance(?);
--there’s a shuttle-dock access point running between the Bison & its shuttle (could one, perhaps, enter via the shuttle door out of which the Nostromo Xenomorph was pushed, and get into the Bison from there?);
--primary personnel opening (which we know for a fact cannot be opened from the outside but requires someone pushing the button from within, as per Alien);
--the landing legs are stored within the Bison fuselage, so there obviously has to be hatches of some sort to facilitate their use;
--Are there any other potential opening that I have forgotten/overlooked?
I further assume that no door or hatch can easily be opened from the outside. That’d represent a clear danger for the crew. But at the same time, some sort of emergency entrance (with airlock) isn’t unthinkable either, and Alien: Isolation has, of course, shown us how this could be done (at least on a Sevastopol type space station) – break the seal and pull the lever, (Kronk).
How do we do this?
PS: If in doubt, err on the side of drama.
