Re: Atlas Compendium

Not for population. Sizes 1-3 are celestial bodies smaller than 2000km. So moons like Iapetus and large asteroids. They physically cannot house populations larger than "tens of thousands" due to small size, as far as the tables are concerned. The section on population does state that with ...

Re: Stun Gun Question

First off, stun has a listed damage of 2, not 1. Which is the same as most other pistols. It has two advantages (situation dependant of course) over regular firearms. It ignores armour, and CANNOT kill. Something we can't say about real world "stun guns". Of course there are more powerful ...

Re: Stun Gun Question

Re-reading the combat chapter, specifically the rules regarding Stress and Damage, there's no mention of armour under the Stress section. I've taken that to mean armour is ineffective against Stress. Is that correct? Because that would also mean stun weapons ignore armour. And that's something I'd l...

Re: Torpedoes

The Torpeado and Mine system module holds four torps or mine per module selected. They are not stored in the cargo hold module. Not by default. It's done this way to replicate real world submarines and mine laying ships only store torpedoes in the torpedo room for various practical reasons.

2nd post

You can't crit with a stun weapon. That's pretty much the official word. Everything else is house rules.

Perhaps due to the effects of The Loop, the area has undergone a TARDIS like effect, bigger on the inside than on the outside :-)

Re: Aldebaran

It is. It's just called Dabaran.

According to Wikipedia, Aldebaran in Arabic is al-dabarān. So drop of the al, add a few centuries of linguistic and cultural drift. And viola. Dabaran.

Re: Defense as an Action Question

The first mention of Defending in the combat chapter, other than that table, is page 87 where it states it costs 1AP. I can't find any other mention in the text before that, and nothing that says you can defend against a close combat attack for free.

Re: Defense as an Action Question

Defending is an opposed action (specifically a Fast Reaction costing 1AP). Defending doesn't really distinguish in how you defend. Just that you cannot Defend (or dodge) a ranged attack, only a melee attack. The only defence against Ranged Attacks is finding cover (a Fast, non-reaction action). I wo...
