Re: Magical Healing and Permanent Injuries

Keeping a lopped off hunk of meat fresh and "alive" feels like it's more necromancy than healing magic to me... In my head healing magic requires life force/a soul/happy good energy stuff to work with and strengthen.

Re: Can someone explain grimoires please?

How exactly does a player come by a grimoire? The rules in the Players Handbook refer to it as an artifact, but it is not listed as one in the GM's guide. Nor is it anywhere in the gear list in the Player's Handbook. It feels like a late addition to make spellcasting slightly less hazardous but not...

Re: Soundtrack

Jag missade tyvärr att backa SS - finns det inget annat sätt att få tag på soundtracket? :(

Re: Magical Healing and Permanent Injuries

Just adding my 2 coppers to the pile. I like permanent injuries, both as a player and a DM. I think my general rule will be based on the fact that for the rank 2 healing spell it says it can "heal broken bones and bleeding wounds" (translated from Swedish rules). It doesn't say anything ab...

Re: Dwarves

Personally I was relieved when I saw that there was almost no darkvision for player races. I always dislike it in eg D&D where darkness is often hand-waved away with "most of you have darkvision and the human has a light spell so... lets just ignore darkness completely from now on, OK?"...

Re: How to make social gameplay viable for goblins?

The books do a great job at including well-reasoned exceptions to most of the racial prejudice and conflict. First off, my take on goblins is that they don't really dislike anyone. Disorderly, selfish and uncaring of others, perhaps - but not strictly disliking. This makes it easy for the goblin PCs...

Re: Population

I felt that the setting should have a town somewhere. Just one, to emphasize that this is not normal. I gave it a bit over 1000 inhabitants and placed it by a river to increase the availability of food to support such a large population. While I don't dislike this idea, I'm worried that introducing...

Re: GM Will Power, "balancing" encounters, Monster Armor

Lastly, does monster armor degrade? I couldn't find an answer in the GM guide. On one hand, it's armor so I assume it follows the regular rules unless stated otherwise. But on the other hand, it's generally scales and hide, so it seems like the armor damage would be just rolled in to taking damage....
