I think this is right. They can help but can’t be actively helping both.

I think it’s fine but I wouldn’t reveal everything and what I reveal would in most cases be vague to a degree.

My reading of this rule is that Goblins ignore darkness as defined on page 147 of the handbook such that they are unaffected as pathfinders at night and are not at any risk of being damaged by traveling at night.
