Re: Tips on Roleplaying a Flaw

I think you have the right idea with it as a roleplaying aspect. It is something that will steadily become more apparent rather than a massive personality flip. Subtly is key. The Loremaster can also invoke the flaw to give you a -1d to a skill roll when it seems appropriate. Denethor was not a vill...

Re: Men of Bree

Breeland is a sleepy little town and a few villages while Dale is a city, plus the Dalelands which are expanding. Bree has a town watch, Dale has an expanding military presence. Breeland is not a militant culture, Dale is. Bree is led by a Reeve, Dale is led by a Dragonslayer. Bree is protected by t...

Re: Men of Bree

If you want to be a big damn hero, look to the other cultures, they have an easier route. It's easy to make a character who isn't combat capable, or out of their depth. Take the stat array that has the lowest Strength and highest Heart, don't buy up combat proficiencies, focus on noncombat skills, ...

Re: Men of Bree

I wish some people could move away from the optimal choice mindset. It stems from the mini maxing of dnd and is so limiting in scope. You don't have to be a total badass to have fun. The main reason to play a Man of Bree (or a Hobbit) is to roleplay a character out of their depth who grows with time...

Re: Men of Bree

This is off the top of my head. They get a lot of hope, they can afford to spend far more than most of the other cultures. They have good social skills, and they have no real inbuilt cultural distrust, ie Rangers being distrusted, elves and dwarves not getting on well, coming from a far off land. Th...

Re: New Rewards

I read these when you posted them first AH. (There were so many it was a bit overwhelming to consider one against the other, hence my delay in responding to your request.) They seem fine and do remind me of several of the 1e bonusses/rewards. One thing that would assist analysis for me would be if ...

Re: Am I the only one who is missing 1e specific Rewards for Cultures?

I've had a crack at adding some extra rewards based on the old 1at edition cultural rewards but done in a generic way. They can be found in the Loremaster section. Feedback would be appreciated.

Re: Gondor-TOR

Surely it comes down to Numenoreans being a blessed people. They are men who've been super charged. They are still of the Race of Man though. This blessing has waned in their descendants, both in the North and South realms. But the blood of Numenor still exists in both realms. Less so in Gondor as t...
