Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 6 Travel

Personally, I check weather only once per day (and use software to do that!), unless there's some good reason (such as a player asking) that the weather might change.

There is a LOT to track in this game, shift-to-shift, and I don't think you'd get very much done if you did all of them religiously.

Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 6 Travel

Sweden might be different, but the topography of Poland being what it is (mostly flat/gently rolling hills) I'm hard-pressed to think of many situations where you could possibly see more than 10km. If you managed to climb a radio tower, I suppose.

Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 5 Gear

I think it's safe to assume that most nightvision in the game should be Gen 2, and Gen 3 should be very rare. Nonetheless, yes, those values are pretty far off the mark. Here's what I've been doing in my own game -- NODs reduce night penalties by 1. So if you have NODs in dim light, you take no pena...

Re: Character Generation (Beta) -- Lifepath

This strikes me as absolutely a narrative/background issue and not a rules issue. A sentence or two simply describing that "All adult males from [Sweden, Poland, etc] are expected to serve a term of conscription by the time they are [X] years of age. Exceptions to this are made for [blah blah blah]....

Re: Character Generation (Beta) -- Lifepath

Apparently that's an unfair assumption. I've dipped in occasionally to the "other" Twilight:2000 forum and the level of bitching there about how "you can't even play a character from another country like England or Germany!" is off the charts. (As if that's a hard thing to figure out and just make h...

Re: Beta Feedback - Referee's Manual Appendix 1 Solo Rules

This is actually a table of contents complaint... the whole Solo section shows up under "Scenario Sites" -- took me a while to find it tonight.

Re: Beta - Combat Actions/Reactions

Okay, fine. If we're splitting hairs, then "the instinctive response of someone trained to survive gunfights" which, I think it is safe to say, describes probably an overwhelming majority of PCs (and maybe NPCs) left in this world. The other trained response is to return fire at high volume into an ...

Re: Beta Feedback - Referee's Manual Chapter 1 The World at War

The orders of battle, and map of unit dispositions, p12-14... the condition amplifiers for almost all units are red ("destroyed"). This makes sense for units such as the 5th ID, but definitely doesn't seem correct for units such as the Sov 79th Guards TD, German 1st Panzer, etc.

Re: Vehicle Cargo - Alpha/Beta Feedback

I think you misunderstood me. I was just pointing out that the examples given, primarily of light vehicles, all show a perfect correlation between passengers and cargo space. CUCV: 3 passengers or 75 cargo (note that a civilian pickup truck is listed as 5 passengers/250 cargo, hrm) M1114: 4 passenge...
