Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 5 Gear

There isn't (unless I've somehow missed it, multiple times now) any sort of rule for composite armor on vehicles, correct? Most HEAT rounds have fairly equivalent stats to APFS versions, with the addition of an explosive blast characteristic, making them fundamentally as good or better in all situat...

Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 2 Characters

In this case I think the discussion is directly related to a needed clarification of the rules as written.

Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 4 Combat

I have house ruled this one as well. You get one free turn each time you move forward (or back) one or more hexes. Otherwise, you may 1 movement point for each hex face turn. Even this, I think, is being generous with allowing turns, but it simplifies movement (just one rule that covers everything!)...

Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 2 Characters

Honestly this seems like it could be solved with just a flat ruling that you can't increase a skill multiple steps at once, which is also a sensible, realistic rule.

Re: Battle Maps

ASL doesn't live up to my personal need for The Aesthetics, but YMMV. On the other hand, I've already liberally borrowed a number of assets or base maps from the Close Combat series of games, which have excellent art at about the right scale, for instance: http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/module...

Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 6 Travel

If you wanted to be really cool , and have realistic weather patterns, you could pull the historical weather data for any random year and then just match the days or even times, if you want to get crazy with it. This sort of data is accessible from a variety of aviation sites but also elsewhere. Of ...

Re: Battle Maps

True, but they're still kinda handy. With the addition of some trees and so forth you could "scale up" some of these (mostly the ones without structures) to an appropriate infantry-combat level without it feeling wrong. I may try that next time I feel like working on some general purpose grassland s...

Re: Beta Feedback - Player's Manual Chapter 5 Gear

I guess there were plenty of PVS-7s around by then, true. Of course those come with their own problems that weren't solved until later. Nothing as usable and precise as the current idea that people might have in their heads (although out of that era of gear, I actually always preferred the clarity o...
