Re: player size

In a horror game though you don't want to be switching too frequently as it takes time to build up atmosphere and tension. In short it would be harder in this kind of game to maintain the horror aspect, as time off camera is breathing room for the player to calm down. I did find it easy to end each...

Re: Alien on Roll20

Just FYI, there are sheets up now on roll20.  Not sure if you need to be a Pro level subscriber to use them or not.  Cool beans.  I'll check it out tonight.  Of course it would come less than a week after I finished 5 weeks worth of gaming (two 3-week sessions.) Update:  No, you do not need to be a...

Re: Cold-Blooded Talent

Ignoring the Cold-Blooded Talent typo for the moment, I noticed the COUP DE GRÂCE rules only applies to human being enemies:  "If it’s a human being and you want to kill your target outright..." While it makes sense to roll against Empathy before killing your own kind, I was disheartened t...

Re: player size

Over the course of 6 individual sessions, I've ran Alien with as low as 2 and as high as 5 players, at any one time. 2 players was actually do-able as long as their agendas more or less align.  They were on the same side (mainly to survive), while as the GM, I played the role of the many NPC antagon...

Re: First session reactions.

I've run the Chariot of the Gods scenario twice now.  Acts I & II work out beautiful; there's some great mystery with the derelict ship and tense situations with the bloodburster and encounters with abomination(s).  First play-through I got tripped up on Act III though.  I made a few assumption...

Re: What to share with players

I'm cobbling together a test scenario which is a bit less populated and a bit more straightforward than Chariot of the Gods, as I haven't GM'd for ages and the players are new to the system. One thing I'm finding useful is putting potential Events in with (my admittedly less detailed) Location desc...

Cham was my sole uninfected survivor...

Re: Chariot Of The Gods changes summary

Changes I made.  And my thoughts as to why . No Secret Android.  As everyone has Secret Agendas already, there's no need for one character to have a doubly-Secret Agenda. Playable Characters: Lucas, Synthetic (Appropriated Cooper’s avatar.  Cooper wasn't using that face anyway. ) NAME:  Lucas POSITI...

Re: Alien on Roll20

Probably not the easy solution you are looking for, but creating different colored dice (white for skills dice; yellow for stress dice) is simple enough.  See Rollable Tables.

I'm currently running two Alien games via Roll20.  No issues thus far.
