Re: Spellcasters in TLotRRPG

Have you read The Last Guardian of Everness by John C. Wright? There are shape-changing selkie in the story. They're quite grusome.

Re: Spellcasters in TLotRRPG

Here is another proposed Craft that I have been working on. Thoughts? Radagast is, of course, a worthy Wizard, a master of shapes and changes of hue; and he has much lore of herbs and beasts, and birds are especially his friends. Tolkien, J.R.R.. The Fellowship Of The Ring: Being the First Part of T...

Re: Conversion Of Adversaries From AIME To TLORRPG

I've used AiME adversaries, as well as core 5e monsters, with almost no changes. The only thing to really watch for is spellcasting, because LotRR does not use that system. What I do is be on the look-out for spellcasting sections in a block and replace it with something more in-line with LotRR mons...

Re: Spellcasters in TLotRRPG

I would say that Beorn's skin changing was a cultural feature, as only his people did it, rather than a spell. Though there was a werewolf in the saga of Beren and Luthien. Beorn I would say is highly adept in Beast-Craft though.

Re: Spellcasters in TLotRRPG

I'm glad you find it interesting. As I said, it is not play tested. I have not even used it myself. I'm looking for feedback. What hesitations do you have with it? What ideas within it do you like?

Treasure Hoard Generator

I made a treasure hoard generator. Mostly it's based on the rules, but some homebrew material is included, namely plate mail armour and a few weapons, also some other precious objects and materials for them to be made from. there's a few tweaks that need completion, such as matching banes for differ...

Re: Conversion

It's sort of between easy and major project. The biggest issue is not system differences, its with scale. The CR for many encounters in AiME is based on core 5e, which is a bit high-end for RotLR.

Re: Spellcasters in TLotRRPG

I've been working on spell casting for this game and setting. I have tried to keep the spells to what is apparent in the books, but I have included some more inspired by the films. My main goal was to keep it from getting overpowered, as is easily done in core 5e. Also I had the goal of making high ...
