Mikael Niemi’s “Koka Björn” will be coming in English in 2020. ‘To cook a bear”. A well-written murder-mystery set in Northern Sweden 1852. A bear is blamed for killing people... Could easily be used as inspiration about beliefs, society, knowledge etc as well as a detective scenario.

I agree with Fenhorn here. That resource rule should be there, both as a consequence and as good for the (characters) story.

For the introduction - maybe have all the characters present at the Asylum, due to encounters with Vaesens, or “treatment” of the Sight or similar. At the Asylum they will of course meet Linnea Elfeklint, last of the Society.
