Re: Captain of the Haven of Tharbad

Some of the best ideas start as a question posed in a game forum. Could it be possible? I suggest you Gather Rumours during your next Fellowship Phase!

Re: big leap clarification

I’ll have to check The Fellowship of the Ring, but my recollection is that an Orc-chieftain leapt past the front line of Companions to attack Frodo with its spear. I had assumed that an adversary taking a Great Leap essentially disengages from whomever they were fighting and ends up engaged to the a...

Re: Best Virtual Table Top (VTT) Systems?

I've been using Roll20 for 2+ years now. The TOR 2e character sheet is great once you know where everything is and how it works. The adversary sheets also work well. +1 on clunkiness, but we're most of us Gen X so the bar is low for immersive experience and a step up from paper and pencil and vinyl ...

Re: Hideous Toughness

1. Hideous Toughness doesn’t require a Hate expenditure.
Fixed above, thanks for catching that.

Re: Hideous Toughness

That’s how this works. One piercing blow as normal from the feat die result, plus a second from reducing the orc to 0 endurance. The order of the Protection Tests is also important when this Fell Ability is triggered. How I would play it is, roll Protection for the Piercing Blow caused by the attac...

Re: Strider mode and combat tasks

I don't think your suggestion would disrupt balance so much as it would offer less palatable alternatives. I can't really see the benefit of opting for the combat task of Protect Self (instead of Companion) when the necessary stance already penalizes adversaries -1d on their attack. If you forego yo...

Re: Concise Rules summary

@Andwise, yes, Strider Mode is surprisingly fun (and brutal at times too). @baldrick0712: The second Councils page has the alternative rules listed with the errata in Ruins of the Lost Realm (RotLR) and is referenced under the header. This only affects the Introduction portion in the lower left. Use...

Re: Concise Rules summary

Thanks for this Rafamir. The page on "Councils" seems to appear twice. Also, why are two Fellowship Undertakings highlighted in green? For my campaign, I highlighted the two undertakings the party elected to pursue. I've removed the highlight now :) The second Councils page has the altern...

Re: Concise Rules summary

Wow, that is a really good summary form! Well done, Rafamir!
Thank you. I may not have updated the Dropbox version in a while (I’ve been keeping it current on Discord). I’ll post an updated link in a day or so.
