Re: [ALPHA] The UK in 4E is still a bit... problematic

Twilight 2000 1e's background was believable right up to the moment (1989-1991 or so) that it wasn't. TW:2000 2e (both) was less than believable, and downright silly in spots as it assumed behaviour that was way out on the fringes of reality to anyone with a basic understanding of European (and worl...

Re: The UK in 4E is still a bit... problematic

Indeed, what do the Soviets invade IN . They had bugger all in the way of 'Phibs and the like. IIRC they could manage to lift the equivalent of a Naval Infantry Brigade (see Clancy's Red Storm Rising as to what was probably a fantasy against a much closer target that was barely within Soviet capabil...

Re: [ALPHA] THE WORLD AT WAR comments/feedback

I did some considerable research for a Modern Pre-Post Nuclear War RPG I ran on Kickstarter in 2015 -- and I'm including the relevant pages on what the US (largely) thought would be the result of such along with some extrapolations of my own available from the following DropBox link ... https://www....

Re: The UK in 4E is still a bit... problematic

I did some heavy research for my own Kickstarter of a modern military RPG and series of supplements and got some reasonably first hand (anecdotal) evidence for US stockpiles of ammo c. the 2000's and ... there's never nearly as much as most (all?) civilians assume ... It's like the line from H Beam ...

Re: The UK in 4E is still a bit... problematic

I generally agree. The whole background is far too nihilistic to be realistic ... 1e wasn't too bad, 2e/d10 and 2.2e/d20 were increasingly ridiculous once the USSR ... fell apart (but not because the USSR fell apart, mind, but because the events were simply ... unbelievable to the point of silliness...

Re: Temporary Alpha Feedback Place

I'd love to post directly to the Dropbox files ... but SEVEN steps for authentication, with pictures which aren't always of identical featured dice? Ridiculous. Anyway. The obvious on the 'Secret' Coversheet for the Poland briefing ... Cover Sheet 'Exercise the necessaary ..." = necessary "to preven...

Re: Ammunition Options

Also Match Grade ammo for specialised Snipers with specialised Sniper Rifles (rather than simply 'Designated Marksmen' with slightly improved standard Rifles).
