Re: Space Nomads & Draconites

Ok, you may have a few more quick notes then! ;) The Arbiters Circle ("Circle of the searchers"?) are now a part of Church of the Icons. The nomads faction consist of several families, clans, etc. They got a seat on the council at Coriolis (there are some history with the Free League fact...

Re: Space Nomads & Draconites

This was posted in the Google+ group last Monday. Might be of some small satiation in lieu of an actual meal. A small bit on Factions taken from the Swedish-language section of Fria Ligan's forum... This was translated from Swedish into English by a Norwegian friend of mine and then edited for clari...

Me neither, now.
I'll see if I can find a different link.

Re: Biological like me...

I would hope the worlds would run the full spectrum.

Gravity and atmosphere differentials have been what I'm ruminating.

Re: Wake me at Kua...

Also, mixing up the materials could be considered. Our technology mostly relies on metal and plastics, but traditionally minded spacefaring folks may have found e.g. leather and wood with near-fantastic properties on their travels, and may find DIY additions and repairs to be a necessity.  N...

Re: Wake me at Kua...

So sounds like the tubes from "Pandorum"... sounds good to me.
I'm in this camp of thinking, as well.
Much rather have the body-invasive sleep chambers of Pandorum than the let's-just-not-worry-about-medical-science-at-all sleep chambers of Dark Matter.

Re: A Pre-Arabic Culture's music...

The only similar things like this I've heard are Kronos Quartet's album Floodplain (2009), which uses some exotic-sounding old instruments, and builds songs around traditional melodies from "from cultures based in areas surrounded by water and prone to catastrophic flooding,"—examples: &qu...

A Pre-Arabic Culture's music...

The opening of The Epic of Gilgamesh ... sung in Sumerian, played on a  "gish-gu-di"—a three-string, long-neck lute. This will end up in a mixed aural soundscape soon. An intro to landing on Dabaran, perhaps... :) If you find this enjoyable/useful, check out some other works this artist ha...

Re: A Dark Mind...?

Read page 10 in the Horizon book. It's described how mystics are "hunted, lynched, murdered, just by suspicion of contamination you're in danger". Also if you want to start of as a mystic you need to pick the concept of "Fugitive"... This now has my imaginative attention. Insert...
