Re: Character "nationalities"

I was wondering about that too.  I think that'd probably might depend on who controls a particular colony or region of space.  Hadley would be US for example.

Re: How much do Weyland-Yutani know?

I was supposed to work on the RPG.  Had discussions with Fria Ligan and being a RPG player a very long time ago, was extremely excited.  Then pretty much nothing apart from 'can we use your star map?' and a 'Thanks' credit in the back of the book.  Really disappointing.  They did sling me a copy tho...

Re: Trying to make sense of "Xenomorphs"

Considering the Lope and Oram creatures were the same, the Auriga creatures all being the same and the horde of identical Aliens at Hadley, they don't really vary from human to human.

Re: How much do Weyland-Yutani know?

It’s not unreasonable to conclude that WY as a whole lost track of even the existence of the derelict between the first two films. WY as a whole didn't know.   Whoever issued SO 937 wisely covered their tracks when they lost a ship and its crew. Which is exactly what I said a page back. Factionism ...

Re: Character "nationalities"

Nationalities still exist more or less as they do in real life today.  Although the UK is still part of the EU for much longer in the Alien universe.  Things like TWE and UPP wouldn't count as nationalities though, just as EU wouldn't count as a nationality.  The nationality of  someone who is part ...

Re: Black goo?

I'm not sure you would fragment.  The worms didn't fragment; they turned into hammerpedes.  And something infected the Engineers 2000 years earlier and they didn't go the way of the Engineer at the start.

Re: Trying to make sense of "Xenomorphs"

Agreed.

I still don't care for them (and the Earth War as presented in the comics just featured normal adult warriors.  It's not till the Earth/ Female War comics that we get the new Praetorian and Queen Mother variant).

Re: How much do Weyland-Yutani know?

In Alien they refer to knowing that something is there and that's why the company sent a synth with them. The presence of Ash is confirmation they know something is there and why mother has secret orders. They knew about a transmission that warned everyone to stay away.  So they knew at least that ...

Re: How much do Weyland-Yutani know?

Humanity had secret contact with the Engineers (when they were still Space Jockeys and called Mala'kak) as detailed in the post-Resurrection Original Sin novel, if you wanted to go that route. I enjoyed River of pain but thought if anything it made the aliens plot more contrived. So they have the pl...
