Re: Is there a map for the CM-90S Corvus?

Not really, there's a level in Alien: Isolation that takes place on one (the Anesidora) but it's very brief and you only see a few rooms.

Re: Should pulse rifle ammo penetrate space ship doors and hull?

Speaking to decompression, the Expanse actually does a pretty good job of showing how this would work. In a season one episode some of the characters are in a room that has a hole shot in it by a railgun. There is no explosive decompression like we see in most sci-fi. No one is sucked out. They are...

Re: Should pulse rifle ammo penetrate space ship doors and hull?

CotG has a section dealing with bull breaches due to firearm usage IIRC As for shooting a ship from the outside, I see two problems. First: armor isn't necessarily uni-directional, just because something pierces from the inside doesn't mean it will pierce from the outside. Starship hulls are already...

Re: What is a Zone?

Page 82 suggests... A zone is typically a room, a corridor, or an area of ground. How big a zone is varies—from a few steps across up to about 25 meters. In general? Play it by ear. Does something seem like it should be long range? Then it is! Is one room two big to be a single zone? Make it more th...

Re: Signal flare

AFAIK they typically burn for a few minutes at most (at least IRL), and a Turn is 5-10 minutes so... I'd say one full Turn if you're rounding up for simplicity. Otherwise probably even less. EDIT: Some more data courtesy of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flare Looks like maritime emergency flares bur...

Re: DIY: Alien Creatures

Hello,
I tried to draw the Tanakan Scorpionid as described in Alien Core Book in page 322
Image
Great work!

Also I just realized these guys are a reference to the old Kenner Scorpion Alien!

Re: Close combat and xenomorphs

If you're the GM, it's your right and your job to interpret the text of the book. You don't need staff to weigh in on what the word "sturdy" means or whether or not blocking with something smaller than a maglight makes sense. ESPECIALLY if it's causing balance problems. Can you block a punch with so...

Re: Trying to make sense of "Xenomorphs"

As for your alien stages, the dog Xenomorph from Alien 3 is just a variation of the drone, it just happens to have come from a different host so looks and behaves a bit differently. . But if this is so, where does the game's "Stage IV SCOUT Xenomorph" come from? I this is not the same as the "dog a...

Re: Authority Talent not useful for Colonial Marshal

Thanks, I edited the subject to Marshal. Okay, that makes sense to use Manipulate in place of a Command roll. So, they got the two skills revered in the talent text? Well... not exactly. The talent lets you use one skill INSTEAD of the other one; You don't train both skills, you train one and use t...

Re: Authority Talent not useful for Colonial Marines

I think you mean Marshall, not Marine ;) From my reading it looks like the intention is that you can use Manipulation (a career skill) to make Command checks (not a career skill) and they just got the two skills flipped around. Command lets you give orders and stop panic, and the "Authority" talent ...
