Re: Ammo and Tracking

I'm honestly a little surprised ammo wasn't a resource like food, air and water. You could do that and then just have a 1 on the stress die automatically lower it by 1. This does mean you risk players running totally out of ammo relatively quickly but it is a thought. If I had to guess I'd imagine ...

Re: Mission Generator and economics of ships

In system jobs aren't that common in the job generator... 11/36. the odds of two in the same system outside the core? 121/1296 or about 9.34%. 3 in same? under 0.02%  When you get to bigger places with 2-3 jobs, it's not quite as bad... Notice though that there's no detail on how often that list re...

Re: Mission Generator and economics of ships

Not really. My concern that the job table is inadequate to properly fund the frontier career if you want to own your ship. If we assume the average job is 27k like previously posted, the Corvus requires 28k a month to pay back the 2% of it’s total value. It’s going to take 40 days just for the tran...

Re: Mission Generator and economics of ships

Not all Class G ships are salvage ships. They will still suffer from crap pay for missions. Besides it’s limiting on jobs if every mission I have to salvage something to make it worth it. I feel like at that point your concern is that a hammer doesn't make a good power drill. The Corvus is a salvag...

Re: Mission Generator and economics of ships

I’ve been scratching my head over this. Running a CM-90 Corvus seems tricky as the jobs don’t pay enough given that it’s a 40 day return trip for even a nearby system. I feel like there should be a modifier for ship class size on payments otherwise I don’t see how you can run a Corvus with the job ...

Re: Is the thematic core of the Alien franchise Marxist and Feminist?

So far, most posts in this forum have been focused on details in the design of spaceships and the life cycles of the xenomorphs. That’s just fine and not that surprising. But, as my question more than hints, there is also a political aspect of the Alien franchise. In the films we see female protago...

Re: Prometheus, Cronus, Heliades- and Magellan-class stats

It was possible to fly Prometheus with a single pilot (though not preferable). We hear the AI making announcements in Prometheus similar to Mother in Alien. Prometheus would have a FTL rating of around 72. Hmm... where are you getting that FTL rating? It occurred to me after you said this that I co...

Re: Minor Component Damage

On page 198 of the rule book, D66 result of 35, it reads “Displacement drive malfunction”, but the effect is “FTL rating halved”.
Shouldn’t the effect be “FTL rating doubled”?
I do believe you are correct.
