Re: A Dark Mind...?

Ok, maybe I misremembered. I especially don't remember that you must be a Fugitive - perhaps that's new with Free League's edition... Now I had to dust off my old Coriolis (Järnringens version).. and you are correct, Fugitive was not a concept - you had "Mystic" and "Priest" if you wanted to start ...

Re: A Dark Mind...?

Thank you.

Perhaps we should start a thread where we ask the Leaguers what changes (not rules changes obvs) they have made to the game?

(Actual changes to the setting, as opposed to additions such as incorporating their own stuff they wrote back when they were just Coriolis' biggest fans)

Re: A Dark Mind...?

I see a bit of a contradicition in that Mystics are actively trained and exploited but their miracles are still supposedly seen as non-quantifiable, but I guess that most of the general population never met a Mystic and therefore doesn't necessarily believe in mystic powers even though faith in the...

I believe Alphast's point was that even if you Vainamoinen will be strictly fair and have every mystic-induced Darkness Point strike the mystic and only him...

Re: A Dark Mind...?

Guess this is a minor point, but here goes anyways: To me, something as a Fireball is "scientifically quantifiable". Or, I guess, a Hold Person (since D&D Clerics don't get Fireball). To me, something as ephemereal as a reroll isn't. Short of setting up a scientific study and experimenting in-game (...

Re: Player background briefing

What I think Vanamoinen means is, "start your first batch of characters as backwater yokels that don't know much about anything". You don't want to have a player create a well-educated aristocrat if that means he or she expects you to dump a huge load of info in his or her lap. That kind of characte...

Re: They just found the Second Horizon

Best case scenario we are talking 8000 years with our best technology to reach it? More or less, no? "Travelling at 20% of the speed of light, they would take about 20 years to [reach] Proxima Centauri." http://www.nature.com/news/billionaire-backs-plan-to-send-pint-sized-starships-beyond-the-solar...

Re: A Dark Mind...?

An emphatic no. Remember, faith means strong belief without proof. That is, the crucial part, that defines the term, is "without proof". You can't have faith when you have proof. For instance, you shouldn't call it "faith" in D&Ds Forgotten Realms, because you have indubitable, irrefutable, impregna...
