Re: Christianity in Vaesen

Wow. Ok this was new to me. Thank you very much. I never heard of these things in north germany where i am from. Almost all exclusivly lutheran here. It's still used (infrequently) by several of the (40+) Lutheran synods in the US. I've been aware of confession being available in LCMS and WELS pari...

Re: Experience Points

In my current campaigns, it's running 3-6 per 3 hour session. Most of them are hitting the rival, but not the buddy.  Play is always, panic is most of the sessions, and Rival is most of them most of the time. Right to the edge of invoking the PVP rule.  The rest? all over the place.   This session ...

Re: Stellar type data - real world - near stars

A map shows you where stuff is; not sure how it describes what to do.  More how to get there. In a classic sandbox mode, the map is there to provide choices to the players, and the GM marks places on it that he's got prepped to some degree or another. The nature of what's on the map sets some of th...

Re: What sensors would a ship in Alien have?

I fully expect full IR, near UV, spectral analysis (which can get you your air mix), and angular measures in IR/VL/UV. Probably also computer enhancement of all. Plus RADAR (for general use), LADAR (for close in maneuvering and combat), and gravitational measures. A 3-axis system of laser interferom...

Re: Using xenomorphs as a biological weapon

I think that Ripley from Alien 4 would be a more desirable end product. Genetically engineered human alien hybrids. Ripley? No. One fatal flaw for a product - no control over it. Just do what they did in Suicide Squad. Put a bomb in her head. Blow up one of the other clones so she knows it's real. ...

Re: 3-dimensional star map?

2300AD had one as well. If I remember correctly the Z-axis was size coded by the stars. Coded by size; color of dot was color of star. But the entire starlist was in a booklet to 0.1 LY accuracy Spacemaster also used a 3d map. I don't recall the coding scheme. So did FGU's Space Opera - FGU used nu...

Re: Air on the Cronus in CotG

There are a few ways I've thought to solve the conundrum...  Tinker with the time assumptions:  rather than "5-10 hours" make it flat 5 for that task remember that 2 successes can mean only half as many. rather than 5-10 minutes per Turn (and thus per roll) be generous and make it 10 minutes This ma...

Re: Making Kids... KIDS...

Personally I have no problem with an equally competent kid. Games are abstractions after all. We are all there to have fun.  google I could picture a kid in pretty much any campaign setting if done right. Even Colonial Marines. (Hello Newt!) I don't think they need any special rules personally. WHi...

Re: Starting my first game tomorrow! My experience as a GM so far

So, my game starts tomorrow. Well, in about 12 hours technically.  Congrats... Riggswolfe: Also, judging by feedback from my players, backstories they wrote and "enemies" from their past, it appears 3 of them view Weyland Yutani as a personal threat. So looks like my campaign is taking shape even b...
