Re: What's wrong with the Alien franchise – and how it can be fixed

Neill Blomkamp, apparently, has some awesome ideas for new Alien franchise movies. He was posting some great concept art to his Instagram a year or two ago. That's when Ridley came in and started his prequel stuff. Fingers crossed we get a chance to see something from him. Blomkamp has made the exa...

Re: Potions- Finding or Crafting Inquiry

I would follow the rules for other crafting talents to make alchemy it's own thing. Then I would do what all the other magic items in the game do. Give them a cost for getting/using it. Sure, you drink this potion and it heals you. But it also numbs your senses and you suffer wits trauma. Maybe some...

Re: Armor, banes, and absorbing damage

The example is actually correct. So there is no choice to let the armor take all the damage, just the choice as to which piece of armor takes the bane damage The reason the game uses 3 colors of d6s is so that you can keep track of where the banes are coming from and thus what they effect. If you c...

Re: First Aid

The issue becomes after every combat situation you have everyone sit around and perform medicine checks over and over until everyone is at full health again. There is no wear and tear over repeated encounters. If you LET the players heal always and whenever then they will always top themselves off. ...

Re: Rules hack : no action economy, minimal GM rolls, simpler actions, turn order/initiative

I bought this up when I saw your thread for it in Forbidden Lands. Guess here works too. If I might make a suggestion. Instead of removing action economy entirely you should open it up with soft caps instead of the games current hard caps. The game as written has hard caps. You get one slow action a...

Re: Share your on-theme campaign Ideas

Sure, you can make up any of those reasons to explain it to yourself. Equally likely is Bishop used his belt time/space teleporter to go back to the 1950s and stole a Russian warhead and then teleported it back and used that for the explosion. We have exactly the same amount of evidence that that oc...

Re: Share your on-theme campaign Ideas

Not one reactor going critical did the bomb thing. Not 3 Mile Island, not Chernobyl, not Fukashima Daichi. Power reactors don't concentrate enough for a full cookoff.  It's a huge plot-hole. Yes. In the universe where black goo turned pale giants into the genetic seed of all life on earth but also ...

Re: Share your on-theme campaign Ideas

The players I run a game for want to play a science fiction RPG after our current Forbidden Lands fantasy campaign comes to end. They want something that feels a bit like Firefly (scrappy underdogs trying to make a living) but with a slightly more "realistic" edge like The Expanse.  My current thou...

Re: Share your on-theme campaign Ideas

There is a significant difference between a bomb small enough to be strapped to a plane and a nuclear reactor that requires cooling TOWERS that is so large that it occupies a massive building and powers an entire small colony of 70-80 familys and all the equipment that is in the process of terraform...

Re: Share your on-theme campaign Ideas

The problem is that Hadley's Hope is a nuked crater and the USCM have that report on record on the Sulaco.

Sure, the derelict ship might still be out there (probably is) but the WY site to investigate is non existent.
