Re: Consumables

Having played a session with this system I want to admit that ive changed my opinion about it! At least when it comes to air and battery power I found out that this system is amazing! It kept the players on edge throughout the entire scenario, debating if they should switch the motion tracker off or...

Re: Share your on-theme campaign Ideas

One idea Ive thought about is to have the PCs be common colony workers pretty happy with their lives, only to have it all thrown into chaos as a huge corporate starship enters a decaying orbit and crashes into the planet, unleashing some form of threat. Be it rival military, fundamental extremists o...

Re: Chariots of the God's first session and feedback

I love how the xenomorphs are super easy to handle in combat. Roll on their attack table, and follow the instructions. But I would love for that table to use 2D6 and use the probabilities of that roll to make it so that the extremes wasnt evently distributed. Right now its an equal chance that the ...

Re: Chariots of the God's first session and feedback

As a GM for this game (and it others) just because I roll something doesn't mean I dish it out. Most of the time I follow the dice but if the timing isn't right for the story I'm not about fudging it. I think the system works fine as it is in my opinion. I am hoping for a wider range of actions tho...

Re: Playing Cinematic without the agendas?

Playing without agendas worked like a charm! The scenario has so much going on that the players had their hands full anyway and the session was tense all the way through! Mostly they stuck together helping each other but towards the end they started to drift apart in their intentions and opinions on...

GM Screen

Im looking at the Coriolis GM screen (the only one I own from Fria Ligan games) and was thinking about what info will be within the Alien screen? Personally I find the Coriolis screen to contain a lot of needless info, while omitting very useful things such as the critical injuries table or ship cri...

Chariots of the God's first session and feedback

Got my first session of Alien tonite! I removed agendas completely and didnt include the android. I pretty much treated this as a normal (standard) roleplaying oneshot which worked great! I dont want to take anything away from the writers, Cinematic Play is definitely something unique in roleplaying...

Re: Rules hack : no action economy, minimal GM rolls, simpler actions, turn order/initiative

I like these ideas. Im also not a big fan of action economy. Love it in boardgames but not RPGs.  After reading both Symbaroum and Kult: Divinity Lost (PbtA) I also have come to the conclusion that as a GM I want to roll as little as possible. This is even more true for a dice-pool game! But how wou...

Playing Cinematic without the agendas?

Never got the starter kit to the table this summer but looks like ill be GMing a group of beginners and first time players soon and to ease things for both myself (im more or less a beginner as well) and the players im thinking of removing the agendas and either removing "Lucas" altogether or make s...

Re: A Hard Life Amongst The Stars - Erratas

I dont have any erratas or anything yet, gonna read through it again in more detail and see what I can find.

But Im very impressed with the preview, I love the way its written and it really opens up my imagination! If the rest of the book stays at this level its gonna be one helluva book :)
