Re: [PbP] Play by Post

How should something like that work? Which frequency? How long? What about outtimes (weekend, holidays,...)?

Re: Chariot of the Gods

These extented off-table meetings are very 80ies. I wouldn't do this. The player could hand you over a piece of paper , if they want to do something in secret. Reading the agendas there isn't too much need of splitting the party, which could be deadly anyway. I would talk to "You-Know-Who" before th...

Re: Use of Miniatures with the rules

Miniatures are usable, but more for the overview not for exact movement, like 'He passed my I get an attack of opportunity'.

Re: Consumables

I like the unpredicatablity of the consumables as it is, but houserules are legit. You'll skip an element of tension in favor of simulating realism. I remember a lot of movies where the protagonist taps on his manometer and suddenly the needle jumps to the red zone, because it was jammed. In the "C...

Re: Initiative Clarification Needed

Sounds right, to be honest. I took a look at Forbidden Lands to see how it was handled there, but FL only knows feinting (exchanging cards) in close combat and nothing simular in ranged combat. Only exchanging cards with MPC ( Mothers Player Characters ) would be much more calucatable. Especially if...

Re: Victorypoints

I really like, that FL changes victorypoints for storypoints and gave them another mechanic: "Automatic successes" instead of Tournament Victory Condition. Just need a cool idea to represent them. Thought about pokerchips or cards with the famous drinking bird on it. https://scontent.fdtm1-1.fna.fbc...

Re: Initiative Clarification Needed

It's a general rule of every RPG I know, that specific rules break general rules. So in general you won't draw another ini-card, but if a skill, talent or stunt rule, that you might it's legit. Redraw a card in ranges combat is a little poker game. If you have a 3 and a 1,4 and 10 for the PCs and  6...

Re: Talent - Personal Safety

Straight means not opposed and not more than one success needed. Just a simple skill check.

Re: Health?

I think one shouldn't mistaken Health with D&D Hitpoints . It's a measure of being able to fight, standing upright and being master of your own decisions. Losing all health points is critical, everything therefore are bleedings, scratches and demoralisations. But that´s thing you could recover from ...

Re: Space Combat?

But surely there must be some rules for dropship combat.
"Must"? I would handle bombardment just with the skills "piloting" and/or "ranged combat". Vehicles were pretty rule-light in Coriolis, mostly higher movement rate and HPs, about a page I think. But we will see.
