Artifacts

How often are people giving out artifacts? The guidelines suggest that artifacts are a big deal and should be given out sparsely but there are a lot of artifacts in the book, which need to be put in front of players, and most adventure sites have the possibility of finding artifacts, so they are not...

Orcs as Kin, not fodder

I have been looking at some alternative adventures sites, using adventure modules from other companies, and a lot of the time Orcs are placed as the aggressors, raiding and terrorising the more peaceful races of the land with he expectation that the adventurers will need to clear out the Orcs to bri...

Re: Mapping locations on the map

Farhaven could be the village on the south coast of Anger Bay in the area called Margelda). The other village on Margelda is where I have placed Pelagia (Backwater Bay).
It would be great to have some more detail about Farhaven as it seems pretty important if it's big enough to have a library.

Re: Mapping locations on the map

I would be interested in hearing how people have placed adventure sites. I asked he players where they wanted to start and where to place the Hollows, obviously near a river. I then gave hints about Weatherstone and gave directions to that site. The next site they hear about will be the Vale of the ...

I was looking at Pelagia as being over that side of the map.

Re: Selling loot

I tend to think the other way, mostly to discourage wanton looting of peasent homes ;) I mean, stop bringing back bags and bags of goblin swords to town! Focus on the good stuff and ignore the rest =D Of course the encumberance system here does a pretty good jobb do discourage that anyway so maybe ...

Re: Selling loot

I would think it's actually harder to find a buyer for common items. I mean, if you had the choice of going to an established shop in your town and buyng, for example, a cast iron pot. Would you go to that shop, or would you rather buy a used cast iron pot, from the shady looking character with a b...

Selling loot

Now that I think of it i am surprised that there are no guidelines for selling loot that the adventures find, my party have found a pretty necklace that is worth 8 silver that they will want to trade, what is everyone else doing in this situation? i think there are a number of steps - Valuation - so...

Re: Selling artifacts

It’s an interesting thought. But dealing with artefacts (not magical ones) in my profession I agree that you can’t put even a Guide price in print. The word “priceless” exists for a reason. You can’t total the value of the materials and labour as you can with say, a new piece of armour. In fact a m...

Re: Falender

The ruined cities like Falender, Varassa, Wailder's Hold and Alderstone are just that - ruins - and they are therefore treated as a terrain type (Ruins) rather than detailed locations. Of course, nothing stops you from filling in these city ruins with exciting things of your own. :) Thanks, I was j...
