Re: Reputation

Hiya,
You're looking for the sidebar info on p62 :) Start with your rep, then subtract the targets rep. Your MANIPULATION roll is modified by the difference. Higher means you add the remainder, negative score means you subtract from the roll.

Re: Stun Gun Question

Hiya, It would seem none of these creatures are intended to be stunned, according to the book. The best I've found is simply MP = stress damage / mental strain. The argument could then be that such creatures aren't sufficiently capable of enduring mental fatigue of any kind. That puts stun weapons a...

Re: Tags and Transactors

Hiya, A tag is treated much like a memory stick formatted to hold either data or birr, but not both. It is locked by a simple code system much like a pin number and probably treated as a bit more disposable (preloaded amounts). A transactor is a more advanced version capable of holding data and birr...

Re: Spaceships & Speed

Try treating the asteroids as partial cover based on overall density and size? That way the lock would only be required for the targeting solution, as avoiding obstacles would be a part of the calculation. You also wouldn't need to track individual asteroids, and if you feel up to it, could also use...

Re: Crew positions

Yeah, I'm similar in approach in my games. If they want to incur more debt, thereby increasing their monthly payments, it just means they have to take on more (or riskier) work. They feel like they have more control with their characters and I've found they don't go overboard with the debts.

Re: Critical Injury Table

Hiya,
You missed the column headings, where it says you roll D66 (not D00 like you're probably used too). First 6 is tens and second is ones; the ranges will always be 11 - 16, 21 - 26, etc. It's used for all the charts so expect to notice it more often. :)

Re: Torpedoes

Hiya, I’ve seen this question in similar forms especially regarding how much a cargo hold itself can carry. In an effort to simplify some stuff, I came up with using some other modules as reference points. For instance, I average a ship torpedo to be about 1m diameter and maybe 3.5m long (4’x10’ app...

Re: Crew positions

Sure, and don't forget the option of backup ship intelligence and systems. My players have a combination of both that act as backups and extras as needed, as it would negate the multiple actions penalties. Expensive, but a life saver on more than one occasion I'm sure.

Re: Ship combat

Hrm.. good question. I think it would need to be rolled at the time of launch, that way you wouldn't forget to include any bonuses from commander if applicable. The target would be able to see that they are about to be hit in X rounds and could prepare in whatever way (brace for impact, plan to use ...

Re: Ship combat

In most games I've run over the years, the rule has been similar to the Overwatch rule here; the action is held until a chosen event or condition occurs. If it doesn't happen, the held action is spent waiting and the next round starts. A is waiting for B to fire, and B is waiting for A, both stare i...
