Re: Weapons

I learned to use a bow and arrow as a kid in the 80s. My dad bought me my own compound bow and quiver of arrows. I also had my own gun to use on hunting trips. Region might have some differences on what was available, maybe? Rural kids in America certainly would have a few things rural Swedish kids ...

Re: Items

Pretty sure it's a toy gun. Handguns are very rare in Swedish homes, and that gun looks toy-sized anyway. Suspension of belief, I guess. Hard to tell from a painting, but it could be meant to be a real gun in the alternate history of The Loop, or it could be a toy. I don't think it would be unheard...

Re: Classes

The only benefit so far for Kid types is the key attribute which seems to give some benefits for the dice rolling, other than that, there's no mechanical difference. I have to agree with zillionk that having a few distinct stat set-ups for each kid might be helpful on structuring a group together. L...

Re: Problems of Setting

The GM could omit the information that player characters can't be killed... Kill off an NPC (or make it disappear, indicating a grisly fate), and the players won't act like there's no risk involved. You make a good point. There's another, perhaps lesser known, movie that Wil Wheaton was in called T...

Re: Items

• Are there Items that should be off-limits? We don't want Kids running around with Guns....or do we? There's an image in the book of a 10-11 year old boy brandishing a pistol. Re: Attributes Creation rework

I don't think the game was intended for ages outside of the 10-15 range. I do agree that a freebie point in each stat works, but I feel like for younger or older kids outside of the age range, some homebrewing might be in order.

Re: Problems of Setting

Off the topic of the science stuff, but.. what made you guys decide to make the kids unable to be killed? That takes away some of the danger originally presented in this world. I think it's genre-appropriate.  In most of the movie influences, the children do not die. There is one in Stranger Things...

Re: The ALPHA PDF - questions, comments, errata

I think I would flip the Types after all of the Attributes and so forth for the character creation chapter. I wasn't sure what an Anchor was or how it came into play until pages later. Explanations for what things are should be before the Types so people have a grasp on what the Attributes etc are i...
