P31 ANNIKA MALTEMAN : : something missing here ? :
"Still, the kings of old rest peacefully in
their mounds, she’s surrounded by history in the form
of rune stones and grave fields."
Björn is correct. The noun of that is "kings of old." In other words, kings from times past. :D

Re: Influences [Books, TV Shows, Movies, Art]

Thank you, Björn! I like that idea for a story hook to use the train in. There are tracks that run through my home town and they do go by an old unused station. Being from a smaller town in Texas, the station is more Old West styled than urban, but still might work in a way as a depot for a ghost tr...

Re: Influences [Books, TV Shows, Movies, Art]

I just learned about something called Silverpilen - a ghost train in Stockholm. That would be an interesting Mystery for the kids. What other ghost stories might work for a horror-themed campaign? Might be fun to do something scary for Halloween.

Re: Soundtrack From The Loop

Been listening to a lot of Carpenter Brut lately and his music might fit. It's kind of a throwback to the 80s synth era.

Re: Problems of Setting

Absolutely. I do agree with you, though, that a pool of health points don't work nearly as well for this game as X number of successful attempts vs failed attempts, and even then that should probably work only with Showdowns or other major Troubles to keep the events special. Combat, or rather.. con...

Re: Problems of Setting

pelorus, not all of those situations have to be resolved in combat, and again I already stated hit points do not fit every situation. Elliot's life or death Trouble could be resolved by X number of successful vs failed rolls, whereas having a fight between an NPC and a Kid that's a slugfest could b...

Re: Conditions

Hi! Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, -1 means rolling one less die. Good to know. Kids could theoretically still succeed then on some rolls (unless they have the broken condition), right? Is there a mechanic in place to allow for limited healing of conditions in the field without going to the hideout...

Re: Problems of Setting

ET very much had a life or death situation. I don't know about you, but I remember them holding that kid in a make-shift medical facility and he was ill. Also, Stranger Things did get pretty life or death, too. Just because someone didn't die doesn't mean the danger wasn't real. Also, hit points do...

Re: Conditions

One less die in the pool makes more sense, honestly.
