Costs not in the core book (fuel, air, lodging etc)

More or less what I said. Assuming my players decide to go somewhat independent when we start our game in a bit over 2 weeks I wondered if I should track this. We know how much a lease on a ship costs and how much spare parts cost but not much else.  How much does fuel cost? I wondered if it shouldn...

Re: Alien films

It's in the special edition though to be honest I never liked that line of dialogue.

Re: Alien films

Ok.. i can see a new sourcebook with a new type of campaign, something like Space pirates/freelances This will hopefully be covered in the inevitable Space Trucker campaign book. As for Alien: Resurrection, it takes place something like 200 years after Alien 3. The RPG is set, I think, about 3 year...

Re: Should pulse rifle ammo penetrate space ship doors and hull?

Speaking to decompression, the Expanse actually does a pretty good job of showing how this would work. In a season one episode some of the characters are in a room that has a hole shot in it by a railgun. There is no explosive decompression like we see in most sci-fi. No one is sucked out. They are ...

Re: Ship maintenance requirements

I posted about this not long ago. The general consensus from the few replies I got was that it was too much. Especially when you look at the table and see that those malfunctions can be quite bad. I ran the math and came up with the Nostromo's repairs costing something like 4 million if you used thi...

Re: Trying to make sense of "Xenomorphs"

I can only guess that the reason why the immune system doesn't savage it early in it's development is because of the genetic material it takes from the host and utilises it to bypass a creatures internal defenses. This is actually a really good reason for why the alien absorbs some genetic materia...

Re: NOSTROMO – the Accurate Deck Plans (IMO, anyway...)

I think these are great deck plans for something other than the Nostromo. The Nostromo has three decks - A, B and C.  Plus Graham is a friend of mine, who has spent years researching this kind of thing.  Ditto Darrell Curtis.  As have I.   While the Nostromo set and Nostromo model has all the issue...

At the end of the day it comes down to I don't think that windows is as large as you believe it is. I'll repost my picture from earlier: https://cms-assets.theasc.com/imager/cms-assets_theasc_com/Alien-396_a338b7d1800d2489869b29a52b696bfc.jpg Perspective makes it hard to judge but I think those wind...

Re: [Moved] Facehugger combat questoin

In the case of the incinerator, I personally would rule that if it hits both the facehugger and the PC are on fire. You just don't shoot a flamethrower into a group unless you plan to light them all on fire.

Re: NOSTROMO – the Accurate Deck Plans (IMO, anyway...)

I'll look at the book again but I think it's 3 decks with 2 zoomed in drawings of sections of the deck to show more detail. This is again the problem with trying to base size off of the film, the script, sets, photos, etc. We see lots of differences all over the place. To me, with those windows, I s...
