Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

On Quickstart v1.1 Critical Hits: While I agree that the previous edition was maybe a touch too lethal, I find the new one is not lethal enough. While I am grateful that there's less in the way of instant kills, they've not only greatly reduced the number of potential lethal crits ... but they've al...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

Thank you for the update. Please either use the Fast/Slow action economy, or switch defensive moves so that you only need to call for block/dodge if *hit* and not before the attack. If you keep it as is, one of two scenarios will happen: - No one will ever block or dodge because it blows their entir...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

Alright. I've gotten a chance to read through the whole quickstart ... and there's quite a bit that needs to be discussed beyond just my defensive reactions reply above. Please note that while I am critical about some aspects of the rules, I also understand that this is essentially a "pre-alpha...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

Page 27 Blocking and Dodging I see you're using Dragonbane's reaction system that uses up your own action for the round. Which is fine as Dragonbane trades action for a much stronger defense. But on the Quickstart, a single success on a Dodge roll completely avoids all damage, while successes on the...

Re: Rules Clarification: Replicant Advantages after Creation

Replicants have two more health and two less stress. They also have one additional physical attribute point.

Re: Another Shield thread!

As posted above. Shields are by far the best parrying weapons. Sword and board also has a lower STR requirement than a two handed weapon. Not everyone will roll a 16 at character creation. Or maybe they will but want to drop that into CON instead since you can raise a weapon skill but not an attribu...

Re: Encumbrance and right Attribute

Strength makes more sense to me since you need muscles more than a functioning immune system to carry a heavy backpack and armor.

Note that your opponent can do the same on his or her own initiative order.

Re: Dragonbane Gamemaster Screen

I've never seen them publicly beta their screens.

Should be fine. Most of their screens are solid.

Re: Magic and Iron/Steel Rule Question

So, in this final version came with a simple yet defining rule for this matter! I really appreciate the new text! (and by the way, now is metal, not just iron) Agreed. So happy they closed that potential loophole. Making it so you straight out cannot wear or have ready a metal armor or weapon is ex...
