Re: Extra Weapons

Wait, what about the Guisarme-Voulge? Bohemian ear-spoon? Lucerne hammer?

Their absence totally destroys my immersion.
The ear-spoon is obviously better suited as a useful object in this system silly.

The other two are too late 'historically' for the setting.

(Got my sense of humour back)

Re: Extra Weapons

Here are a few extra weapon options - they are certainly not in Tolkien's works but they are weapons that would fit into the same 'historical' timeframe. They maintain a mechanical balance that makes them distinct from other already existing weapons. Staff Sling 4 14 2 Brawling Ranged Weapon Notes: ...

Re: Town and Fort Building Homebrew

This is good stuff. Here a few ideas/suggestions. A settlement or fort needs a reliable water source. You should consider fitting digging a well an important step in developing such a place. The same could be said for food sources - consider fish ponds, bee hives, livestock pens, smokehouse etc A Br...

Re: Heavily armoured armies are unviable

Being weary doesn't mean, you're out of combat, it just means that 1s, 2s, and 3s on the d6 don't count. And if you rolled a lot of them during an attack, chances are high, that you'd miss, even if you're not weary. On the other hand, two piercing blows and you are dead. So I'd say, better weary an...

Weapons of Renown in Eriador

Here are a few weapons I adapted from MERP to be found somewhere in Eriador. A collection of Elven and Númenórean weapons to form a treasure index, make of them what you will. Armidhrist (S. Royal Eminent Cleaver): Short Sword – Númenórean make; Cleaving, Foe Slaying (Bane – Orcs, Evil Men), Fell, G...

Re: Extra Weapons

Whoops! Sorry AidenH. When I mention LotR/hobbit, I never remember the influence of the films. But any images that PJ has for the cultures of the Free Peoples using axes doesn't resonate with me. Not sure what you mean here Dun, I was talking about the books. Remember it is easier to get a piercing...

Re: Using hate/resolve points..

This probably should have gone in the Loremaster section, to keep away from players.

You have to use the Hate/Resolve on your adversaries to make them a threat, though an argument to leave a point for a protection test or to stave off the weary condition is certainly a viable tactic.
