Regarding the delay of UO, yes it starts to get annoying to be honest, but hopefully whatever issues they have had with its release, have been solved so we can get the continuation of T2K4E going. but I imagine they are concerned about discussions and new releases for the game being picked up in the press and taken out of context. Which would be a valid concern, for sure. It's a modified version of "Cooking" (p148 in the Player's Handbook) but with spoiling the food as a result of failure rather than having to track that particular piece of food because of food poisoning (which is a very bookkeeping heavy rule I don't like at all)

As I said in the OP, I can wing it just fine - I was looking for rules that allowed salting/drying/pickling/preserving/ any mechanic which preserves food for more than a month . Looks like there aren't any, in the book, which is a very odd decision given it's supposed to be a post-apocalyptic surviv...
