Re: Release date

Tomas today on FB said another week or so for the Beta.

I read somewhere else that a September timeframe is likely for the final rules. The main thing is to take the time to get it right. The Alpha is quite good imo but there are also a lot of things missing, so I'm looking forward to the Beta.

Re: Ammo Dice...why?

You have to remember that this is not a War sim, this is a post-apocalyptic game. Guns breaking down is in combat, I believe, 100% intentional on the part of the designers. And it has to be. I've said previously, many many pages ago, that I feel the mishap rules need tweaking, & I eagerly await the...

Re: Firearm familiarity question

The hand angle and the sights just don't work for me. Put down the Glock and pick up a CZ or a Sig and it's a huge improvement. When I said handguns are essentially the same I meant with respect to their function, i.e. safety, mag release etc. are generally laid out similarly according to a small n...

Re: Firearm familiarity question

From my own experience, I would not impose a -1 to hit. I've seen people with zero experience with a particular weapon show unimpaired accuracy on the range. Marksmanship doesn't change. But there should in principle be a penalty for an unfamiliar weapon. Reloading actions should always be slow acti...

Re: Firearm familiarity question

After three years you can absolutely expect everyone is familiar with opposing small arms. Not because supply chains have collapsed and they have to adopt enemy weapons but because they have captured and handled those weapons and they know how they work. In reality most small arms are quite similar....

Re: Ammo Dice...why?

I also like a high-threat game, but I like ammo dice. Anyone who wants to stay alive will adapt to a high-threat environment will be by avoiding contact, especially if the enemy is better supplied. If you rejig the ammo dice rule then you're changing the rules for all combatants. An enemy who is wel...

Exactly, player C has to re-roll until they get a result that hasn't been rolled yet.
