Re: Release date

A post by Fria on Kickstarter earlier today provided this update:
"Beta is almost there! Final touches of layout remain, possibly we'll have it this week, could be next. Hang in there! :)"

Re: Release date

According to Fria's YT channel, it was supposed to be last week.
I think they're clearly stretched very thin with T2000, TOR, Symbaroum 5e, etc. on their plates. I can only hope this doesn't negatively impact the quality of their work.

Re: Player Narrative and Player Tactical Control

This is really a question of Simulationist vs Narrative gaming. Previous iterations of T2000 were firmly in the Simulationist camp while the new edition (and many of FL's other games) are more on the Narrativist side of the spectrum. Personally I like either approach but it's going to be tough for m...

Re: GM Screen

Yup, that is correct. It's an add-on (from KS page): TWILIGHT: 2000 REFEREE'S SCREEN - 198 SEK A top quality, deluxe Referee's Screen in landscape format for Twilight: 2000. It is made out of three sections of 3 mm thick hardback, measuring a mighty 855 x 216 mm when unfolded. The outside features b...

Re: Recommended books for inspiration?

RSR is a definite recommendation. Red Army by Ralph Peters looks at a WW3 scenario from the Soviet side. Team Yankee and Sword Point by Harold Coyle are similar to RSR and quite enjoyable. Many novels by Larry Bond (who helped Tom Clancy with many of his books, especially RSR and Hunt for Red Octobe...

Analysis of Weapon Lethality

I've run a few numbers to see how deadly the game is. A few caveats, assumptions and observations on how I went about this: 1.) Normal Damage doesn't kill you, it only incapacitates (yes, it does make you vulnerable to a coup-de-gras but that's almost impossible to model). 2.) Critical Hits can kill...

Re: [ALPHA] Character generation

Mmmh...! Just for instance, could someone please explain to me how "Medical Aid" in a contemporary context is an "Empathy" skill? It's not as it being a skilful medic exactly necessitates a good bedside manner... Or how hitting a target with a tank gun or artillery or any kind of mounted weapon has...

Re: Ammo Dice...why?

I always thought that the motivation for adding the three-round burst capability to rifles was to increase the chance to achieve a hit while preventing the spray-and-pray style waste of ammo. The Ammo Dice right now does nothing to increase the probability of a hit which seems odd, more rounds = mo...
