Re: Fria Ligan's Business Model

I voiced similar concerns during the TOR Kickstarter: FL is very good at putting a game together and getting it out there but they're terrible at long-term support. Even their long-running lines only have a handful of supplements. With them adding more games to their lineup (Bladerunner should be ou...

Re: Northern Poland Map?

I like to use real topographical maps with a hex overlay instead of the ones that comes with the game. Got more interesting details on it and helps with the immersion. This one is based off a pilot navigation map from 2001 (1:500.000) which covers northern Poland. I've superimposed a 10km hex-grid o...

Re: Vehicle Smoke Launchers

200-350 meters for the standard 3D6 and thermal blocking 3D6M. Also given as 250-350 meters. This is the one you mention for advancing Soviets. The early 1990s thermal blocking 3D17 is 50 meters. Also given as 75-90 meters. https://thesovietarmourblog.blogspot.com/p/81mm-smoke-grenades.html That's ...

Re: Accuracy by Volume Option

We use the house-rule that you can use 6's on ammo dice to add a +1 to one of the skill rolls thereby potentially turning a close miss into a hit.

For example:
You roll 2 and 5 on your to hit roll and a 2,4 & 6 with your ammo dice. You could use the 6 to add a +1 to the 5, turning it into a hit.

Re: No Swedish Radios?

Yes, Fria Ligan must publish a equipment module. We need more weapons! (I reuse the ones from 1st and 2nd ed).
I dunno.. weapons are kinda very samey. It'll just be a list of pretty-much identical weapons in each category.

Re: The number of nukes used in Poland

The Soviets could deploy nukes from 152mm, 203mm, and 240mm tube artillery. The US had 203mm rounds.. I don't know the yields on these exactly but they should be approaching 1kt. These would presumably be primarily used on enemy formations, while the above weapons would be used on infrastructure an...

Re: The number of nukes used in Poland

I like this site best: you can overlay the explosion effects onto Google Maps and see how your hometown would fare: https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/ As an additional note: Instead of attacking enemy formations directly, tac nukes can also be used very effectively in an interdiction role such as b...

Re: Thought on suppression

Had he rolled a 2 and 4, it would still have been a hit.
Is this a typo? Did you mean it would still have been a miss?
Ooops.. Yes, typo. Thanks for that!
I've fixed in my OP.

Re: Thought on suppression

One house rule we've tried which worked pretty well is to allow Ammo "hits" to be traded in for a +1 modifier on one of the base dice (you can't add this to any natural 1's) So, for example, say a a PC rolls a 2 and 5 for an attack with his rifle plus 3 ammo dice which come up 3, 5 and 6. ...

Re: Vehicle Cargo Capacities Too High?

Interesting... I looked this up and noticed that there was a change between the Beta and the final version on how passengers worked. In the Beta, passengers took up cargo space (25 points worth per person), so the HMMWV (which only had 100 Cargo back then), with a driver and 4 passengers would have ...
