Re: What About Other Nationalities?

We have the UK and French situations in the manuals and in the World at War section, Israel and Syria is discussed. Remember too that the Warsaw Pact is defunct by the time the war starts between NATO and the USSR. I think they intend to explore some of these topics in future expansions if the game ...

Re: I hate Encumbrance Units!

I think encumbrance units is the perfect way to handle carrying weight in this game because there is more to carrying weight than the actual weight. If you really want to kill roleplay, imagine stopping each time an item is going to be carried to figure out how many kilos it will weigh and it's dime...

Re: Release date

Have any reasons been given for the delay? Is it to fix rules and such? Doesn't matter one way or another to me, just curious.

Re: Release date

From what I gather, the beta should be released any day now and originally, the full game was going to be out by May or June. It seems that the timetable has been pushed back a bit because I don't know if a beta release was ever originally intended after the alpha release in November. This is from m...

Re: Player Narrative and Player Tactical Control

If you introduce that concept early then I think it's easier to take hold. For instance, my group plays via discord so all the maps we use are crude drawing on OneNote that I screen share. We guesstimate ranges and I try to be descriptive as possible. All combat happens in a "theater of the mind" st...

Re: China Asia involvement

By the events of the game, there's a very good possibility that China would somehow get involved especially if nukes were flying. Japan was a major strategic ally of the US so I can't see how Japan would just stick to their island. Okinawa might not even exist anymore because of the American base th...

Re: Initiative

Thanks for all the advice. I think just rolling a d10 one at a time will be more cumbersome than just taking away drawing cards. I'll give it a shot though. Perhaps, I just have an issue with initiative in Twilight compared to other table top rpgs!

Initiative

I'm curious what people have been doing in their games for the "initiative roll." I know the book suggests using a deck of cards and have every character draw one but when playing online, this becomes just another job for the GM to do or you have to track down an app for card dealing. Give me some g...

Re: Recommended books for inspiration?

I think Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy should be a no-brainer choice. Delving into this game finally got me around to reading it!

Re: Weather and vision distances

I believe they are just referring to 100 meters in darkness with fair weather. It gives a baseline to work with when the rules explain line of sight during rains, etc. I think it'll be up to the referee to decide how much the PCs can see at night and what weather conditions are affecting that line o...
