Re: Any reason Brawling can't be raised as a weapon skill?

I thought blunt but more martial weapons - mauls, hammers, maces etc - were included under the Axe skill? I’m sure I read that somewhere. Maybe in the Alpha or 1E? In the Alpha, clubs were under the Axes weapon skill. In the published rules, they've been moved under Brawling with cudgels and the Ho...

Re: Any reason Brawling can't be raised as a weapon skill?

May be best to just house rule a "Clubs" weapon skill and put the cudgel and club in that group.

Any reason Brawling can't be raised as a weapon skill?

I'm playing a Hobbit whose main weapon is an iron-shod walking stick. My character has a bow and I've taken the Sure at the Mark virtue, but sometimes it's more appropriate to just pick up a stone to throw. Throwing a stone also comes under the Brawling skill. In the Alpha, clubs were counted under ...

The One Ring 2e on Fantasy Grounds

There is a Fantasy Grounds community ruleset for The One Ring 2nd Edition, based on my 1st edition work.
The current version includes updated 2nd edition dice handling for the character sheet.

Re: Additional combat proficiencies and weapons

The authors were very clear they would put in the rules only the weapons that characters in the books used. Hammers and staves are among the weapons the Hobbits have during the ousting of the ruffians from The Shire. When Sam got back he found the whole village roused. Already, apart from many youn...

Re: Acquiring Playtest Rules

I like converting fantasy systems to Star Wars, and I like seeing if sci-fi systems can accommodate fantasy settings. I'd like to see what this new edition can do. I converted the 1st edition rules to run a post-apocalypse zombie game. I think the main thing is whether the theme of hope vs despair ...

Re: Replacing corruption checks

The closest equivalent in 2nd edition might be the Despair journey event (pg. 111 & 114).

Re: What value do you give a Gandalf rune?

As written, the Gandalf rune has no assigned value as it has the auto-success special result. If a numerical value needs to be assigned, 10 is better than the 12 in the OP. In essence, the Gandalf rune being worth 10 + auto-success.

Re: What value do you give a Gandalf rune?

The Gandalf rune counts as 10 numerically Where does it say this in the rules? Pg. 17: Reading the Feat Die: The rune is the highest result you can get on a Feat Die. The highest result you can get on a Feat Die is a 10: Each Feat Die shows numbers ranging from 1 to 10 The next line is the automati...

Re: What value do you give a Gandalf rune?

The Gandalf rune counts as 10 numerically, but is also the automatic success described above. When using standard dice the 11 is an Eye of Sauron result which counts as zero numerically, or automatic failure if miserable.
