Re: House rule for crit rating

Thing is, sniper rifles have long barrels for a reason: in most cases, with all things being equal, this results in higher muzzle velocity, which means less drop and more energy delivered at the other end. Typically, the difference in energy between a long barrel and a standard one is around 15-20%....

Re: Combat as theatre of the mind...

I've done a couple ToTM combats, usually for quick "the guy goes for his gun!" or random encounter sort of stuff. Pretty much I'm just using the normal rules, just a bit faster and looser with modifiers and range bands. It involves a lot more yes/no kind of questions, which are easy to answer usuall...

Re: PDF slowness?

Yes. I think it's just because they are very image-heavy. I get different performance in different PDF readers.

For the most part, yes -- a few tweaks for background consistency might be needed.

Re: Damage from firearms

Yeah, I'd say don't go tinkering with it without some extensive playtesting. Honestly I find it strikes a nice, realistic balance where most players CAN tank a rifle shot or two, even to the head -- but on the other hand they're well aware that any single bullet can end their life, if the odds go a ...

Re: Missing gear entries in release

It is mentioned briefly, mostly in passing, but it's not supported all that well by the actual rules -- or at least not clearly so in a way that suggests how to go about it. This is probably why I have come to mostly prefer systems with clear trinary outcomes. But yes, you're right, it's often the c...

Re: Even MORE Foundry Questions MAPS and TOKENS

I actually haven't tried gridless. I guess it would work well, but you lose the utility of being able to just move things according to the actual rules, without fiddling. Simply scaling down the tokens achieves what is desired with being able to snap multiple tokens into a single (properly scaled, 1...

Re: More Foundry Questions

2. right click on the journal (or folder) and go to permissions and set players to "observer" or, if you want, "owner." There are also a couple of permissions plug-in modules which can give you more control or better indications over this sort of thing. 3. same thing 4. you can assign the table to a...

Re: Missing gear entries in release

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about too. It is not 10 lbs empty, I guarantee it. If I had a scale handy I'd empty out one of the ones I have to prove it. But Scepter says 4.33 lbs for the water can.
