Re: Barrow Wright dreadful spells

Thanks for replies...I'm not sure I'll ever feel comfortable with using sing but maybe I'll feel differently when running it. Why do you feel uncomfortable with it? Is all your RP in the 1st person, so you feel the player has to sing? You can just go third person, and the player says 'I sing an old...

Re: Timeline on New Books after Initial Release?

While I'm looking forward to receiving the lost Ruins supplement I'm concerned that there doesn't appear to be a more substantial supplement on the horizon as having only the "ruins" could reduce the game to nothing more than a d&d clone only looting dungeons.

Re: Fend off/ Shield thrust

To use the shield thrust option your strength must be greater (or equal I can't remember which) which the player character may not be whereas they would be able to take the fend off option. Also the fend off action applies to multiple opponents.

What was the rules in the alpha for councils?

I read somewhere that the alpha rules for councils didn't allow you to use the same skill twice unless you spent a hope point...is this correct and was there any other rule changes?

Barrow Wright dreadful spells

It says that it can send a pc into unconsciousness from which they can be roused using the song skill. I can't get my head around the fact that pcs have to burst into song! My question is this do the characters automatically know they must use sing? Or have they got to make a lore or another skill c...

Re: The Problem With Hope

After watching a few "let's play" games on YouTube I can't help but worry how many hope points are used and yet still fail. I was wondering about allowing players to spend hope points after rolling to give the player a +3 to their total but are still limited to spending 1 hope point per skill attemp...

Re: Using hate/resolve points..

Has anyone considered using a "pool" of hate/resolve points that supply all of the enemies rather than tracking each individuals amount? I'm not a hundred percent sure how it would work, maybe each npc chips in half their hate/resolve into the pool and maybe each casualty removes half their hate or ...

[Moved] Using hate/resolve points..

Does anyone use them? I've watched a handful of YouTube videos and no loremaster has ever used them. Speaking for myself I'm yet to run a game but I currently feel they perhaps make npcs to tough , I might be tempted to use them for a "boss" fight.

Re: Council Skill Endeavor math odds success rate

How about if you repeat a skill it looses d6 each additional time past the first time you use it? For example, use a skill twice its score is-1d6, use a skil a 3rd timel -2d6 and so on this would reflect the listener becoming more bored/suspicious.
