7th episode of my fictionalized solo-game

Hello everyone, I've finally had a new session of my solo-game which I've written up including fiction elements and dialogue. I think it works quite well, and for those without a game, it might scratch an itch! It also demonstrates how important the non-combat skills are in this game. https://mindla...

6 solo sessions and a long combat

Hello all You can now find six sessions of my solo-game on my blog. This includes a combat of 12 rounds, which I think serves as a decent game example. I don't record all the rolls, but I think there are many good examples still. The game feels very vital where every roll is dramatic. You can start ...

Re: One Thousand Lifepath Characters

This is great!

It does confirm how difficult it is to create a young character with the life path system. Using only this, it becomes an "old man's war".

If were to run a game with my group, I would consider reducing the age increase to 1d3 or 1d4. At least for the first three segments.

Re: Solo-campaign with fiction

Thanks for the positive replies! It is very nice that people appreciate it, and it works as intended - both inspiration and as a way to get to grips with the rules.

I intend to play episode 4 today and tomorrow and write up episode 3 this week. Episode 4 should contain the first big battle.

Solo-campaign with fiction

Hi all I'm using the solo-rules to play a solo-escape from Kalisz campaign, and documenting it on my blog indlucing some fiction elements and rule considerations. I think it is handy to get a sense of the 4th edition rules and gameplay. Some of you are most likely in the FB groups where I've also po...

Re: Heavily armoured armies are unviable

Thanks for all the responses. It seems like quite a few of the responses answered something, which wasn't the intent to question: - I'm aware that characters can mitigate the Load with better gear or virtues. - I don't question the rules in relation to how they work for a group of adventurers. I hav...

Re: A more comprehensive combat example for players and LMs

If the adversary wants to flee from combat, but can't take up a defensive stance, then what? From p104 under heading "Fly, You Fools!"... "They can first assume a Rearward stance, and then choose to escape when their turn to act comes. No roll is required to do so. The same applies t...

Re: A more comprehensive combat example for players and LMs

I written a two-page combat example for players and potential Loremasters, based on my own little test of the game. It was one of the few faults I found with the core rules - the extremely brief combat example didn't really show how the rules actually worked. I hope that other LMs might find it use...
