Re: Magical success on Travel rolls

I think it was more mechanically focused, based on this: "How would you rule him getting magical successes on things like marching tests or rolling to reduce fatigue at the end of a journey? Just curious how Magic applies to these more mechanical skill tests. Thank you!" :) Interesting. W...

Re: Magical success on Travel rolls

Oh, was the question how to mechanically implement it? I thought they were asking what it would mean in the fiction.

Re: Magical success on Travel rolls

Hi everyone, just curious how you would all play this out in your game. My dwarf player took the "Broken Spells" cultural virtue and is going to choose Travel as one of his chosen skills. How would you rule him getting magical successes on things like marching tests or rolling to reduce f...

Re: Ship and the Stone

I wonder if I'm the only one who saw the subject line and thought "is this going to be about how and why Isildur, hurriedly packing to leave Númenor before it sank, thought 'you know what I should somehow get onto my ship so later I can roll it hundreds of miles inland later and park it on a h...

It was speculated by the very best of the fan base that a fold out Balrog should be included - with optional wings. Ha! I had forgotten about that. I think you are talking about my suggestion that they model it off the box that Chamucos tequila comes in. https://d3omj40jjfp5tk.cloudfront.net/produc...

Re: Ruins of the Lost Realm

And then we have Nimue of Lond Daer, who is surely an interpretation of the Lady of the Lake from the Arthurian mythos (with whom she shares a name) crossed with Beowulf. She swims under the water and finds a weapon, but uses it herself to slay the threat and is acclaimed as queen in her own right....

Re: Stone Giants

A long pondered question! Between the description of the thunder-battle in the Misty Mountains, and Gandalf’s comment about finding a more or less friendly (“decent”?) giant to block up the goblin’s new entrance, there’s pretty good evidence that ME has giants, distinct from trolls. I’m still hoping...

Re: Help with a scenario

Dude this is amazing idea! I've been running games for almost 20 years now, but never a LotR style game and I want to infuse as much of that flavor as I can to keep it from becoming some sort of DnD clone. Thank you for this idea.
Well there goes my brilliant idea about rats in the cellar.
