Re: Templewall

Not that I know... And there really should be!

I seem to remember now that there's an optional scene in Alberetor, The Haunted Waste, about lieging siege to Templewall or similar. But nothing really detailed, AFAIR.

Re: Stance after being surprised?

Sorry, but I'm struggling to understand the problem. Something is eluding me. Play out two scenarios: in ambush 1, the players are surprised and then immediately strike back. No, not immediately. They can roll to hit in the second round. Their actions are skipped during the Opening Volleys and durin...

Re: Stance after being surprised?

I agree with Dunheved that, to avoid unnecessary rulings, you should simply skip the heroes' step 3 in Combat Resolution (p.95), and apply Advantages (p.102) to the enemies. I would allow the heroes to assume a Stance (step 1) which would usually be Defensive (-1d to the enemies' attacks), but also ...

Re: Fanmade V1 Callings?

I'd like to take a look on it one more time. Yeah, that's what Bilbo said when he met Frodo again in Rivendell... A sad moment XD I remember Rich H and some others doing that. Over at the RPGGeek forum for TOR I recall discussing them. If you can't find them there, I'll try to take a look later.

Re: Some concerns about TN and the difficulty of skill rolls (too easy to succeed)

But how this works seems to be hard for many players... especially veterans...to grasp. [...] A lot of people have been playing for a long time where you declare an action your character is taking, specify what skill on the character sheet you're using for it, and roll the dice all as one thing, be...

Re: Some concerns about TN and the difficulty of skill rolls (too easy to succeed)

From the overall view we have now, I think that it is easier to get some additional dice to roll, at least for those areas you (as a player) deem important for your character. Traits and Personal Objects, besides Hope points, could make it easy to rolle 1 or 2 extra die in one or two core skills of ...

Re: Which books next?

The further you delve into the Throne of Thorns, the more references you will see to the APG. So it might be good for the GM to have it. Absolutely true, too. And as you indirectly point out, Rangertheman, I personally consider the APG a better book for the GM than for the players, mainly because o...

Re: Which books next?

I agree with ChrilleT fully. Although you already have gotten yourself great books, just for the record here are my 2 cents. The Core Book has more than enough rules options and lore to get you going for a long time. So, in my opinion, The Copper Crown is the best 2nd book (or PDF) to purchase. It o...
