Re: Playing online

We have just moved our newly started campaign online using Discord (with fobbot for dice rolling) and Obsidian Portal for persistent shared documents. So far, it has worked reasonably well. We are still in the process of learning the rules and getting used to the technology but I expect it to work q...

Thanks Magnus! It is great to hear that you were able to address this. It is always good to see that feedback is taken seriously.

Re: Raw Materials

I'm not sure you are necessarily supposed to hand out raw materials as such. That seems more like something the players set out to acquire. Either with money, in which case there are price tables, or through other means. In the former case the only thing you have to decide is how much there is for s...

Re: Silver mines?

I mean, this is moving away from the op topic, but it would be cool if those „children“ would look rather alien to other kin, maybe because their body was still incomplete (like no mouth, nose, ears, whatever). Makes it a bit more strange to sympathize with the refugees for the players. I like that...

Re: Silver mines?

Elves DO have children though. A Elven ruby is broken into pieces, each of which grows into a full ruby, and then is helped to grow a body. Presumably that body starts as a child with an elven gem that has no life experiences and has to develop. An Elven blood line is not who slept with who, but wh...

Re: Silver mines?

Or maybe he just started excavating and struck the motherlode? Just because their historically hasn't existed silver mines doesn't mean that it is impossible to dig for the metal in the Forbidden Lands. Just unusual. Maybe? I mean, it isn't impossible but it seems like that would be a pretty big de...

Silver mines?

According to the Player's Guide there are no silver mines in the Forbidden Lands and all silver coins in circulation date back to the Alder Wars. Yet, in random encounter 28 (The Empty House) there is a reference to a local lord acquiring new slaves for his silver mine. It seems like that should be ...

NPC Combat Cards

I've been looking for a convenient way to track NPCs during combat and couldn't find anything that quite did what I wanted. So I created it myself. The resulting NPC Combat Cards to track attributes, equipment, skills, and remaining actions are now available on DTRPG.

Re: The Bitter Reach Beta has dropped

I've been wondering about the lack of Halflings as well. While it certainly makes sense that the environment in the Bitter Reach isn't too their liking, it does raise questions about the presence of goblins. There are of course all sorts of possible explanations but it seems a bit odd that none of t...

Re: Do you roll in the open?

I generally roll in the open. That way the players don't feel cheated if I have a series of good rolls (instead my dice have acquired a fearsome reputation). But NPC and monster stats are a closely guarded secret. :) How do you accomplish that? Doesn't rolling in the open give the stats away, for NP...
