Re: New (Homebrew) Fighter Path: Path of Bravery

Rank 1: well if I was to copy it from the minstrel, I would copy it entirely (no point in limiting to 1 WP, as you say). I chose to try to create somethin different in some way, although I don't want it to be lackluster. Rank 2: I thought of this possibility too. It's more costly, but more effective...

Re: New (Homebrew) Fighter Path: Path of Bravery

Rank1: maybe you meant Path of the hymn? Warcry is nothing alike this. If you meant hymn, I changed the type of action to fast instead of slow while nerfing the bonus to just 1 temporary point. I think it should be different from the Minstrel's, otherwise it's basically cherry-picking other's talent...

Re: New (Homebrew) Fighter Path: Path of Bravery

1) Yeah, your version sounds better. As for the "other healing received" matter, tbh I didn't think about it because, in my group, the only character that had the means to heal was my orc druid and he's dead. Ofc, there is always the "heal" skill for any character so it's good to...

New (Homebrew) Fighter Path: Path of Bravery

The lack of a third path for the fighter (if you don't use the optional combat system) bothered me, so I created this Path for my wolfkin. It should represent a fighter who takes the role of a leader, the one you look at when things go awry. Without further ado, here it is: PATH OF BRAVERY Many warr...

Re: Homebrew rule: raising attributes

I've come to the conclusion that raising an attribute is not an option if it's something to be bought with XP... The cost would simply be prohibitive. So, while it makes perfectly sense to me that someone could raise an attribute with training and experience, in this game it's better ignore this pos...

Re: Alternative Rule for Casters

@Ebrim well, an automatic mishap and some wits damage are punishing (at least, imo they are). The mishap alone can create quite the mess if you're unlucky (opposite spell effect than intended, summoning a demon, get dragged to hell, etc.), and Wits damage can Break the character = potentially get hi...

Re: Dealing w/ Lethality

There's also the "Lucky" talent that further reduces the chances of dying/being severely crippled with a critical injury if all your plans go wrong. Just the first rank (3XP, lets you roll twice and keep the better roll) can be really useful

Re: Alternative Rule for Casters

Why not an automatic mishap AND a number of Wits damage equal to the rank of the spell cast (the higher the complexity, the higher the mental strain, I suppose)? In case of Broken Wits, I'd simply make the character faint due to the mental strain - rolling for a Horror critical injury seems far too ...

Re: Homebrew rule: raising attributes

Of course, we are just at the start of the campaign so an hypothetical milestone would be reached in a few months; we were just wondering if anyone already tried to introduce attributes raise as a reward, maybe instead of an artifact. Being the orc a spellcaster, he would still need a lot of WP. Idk...
