Re: Urban Operations Early Access Feedback

unless the main gun is trained at a choke point on the approach that an approaching enemy must come through. Okay; I went and checked. And no, there is no such choke point in the terrain. You have a nice, flat view along Strandvägen all the way down to Vättern some 200m away, but there is no point ...

Re: Soviet-Russian Strategic Culture

...there are CEO's of firms that get deals from government, they take their cut from top, the rest of the company skims down on materials and production costs, they suborder parts from a company that is owned by their relative at outrageous prices, etc... That's exactly it — that is the Russian ( a...

Re: Soviet-Russian Strategic Culture

My point being, this culture of kleptocracy would make any large-scale industrial investment, such as a major armament drive, very slow, since much of the funding would end up in private pockets along the way. And if the rate of investment is already slowed down due to, I dunno, plummeting oil price...

Re: Urban Operations Early Access Feedback

a Strv 103 C without tracks would be a completely useless thing since both the MG's and main gun is aimed using the tracks, so it's basically just an immobile box of steel. Yeah — not only immobile, but unable to even nudge its gun sideways. The elevation would still work, as it is done with the ro...

Soviet-Russian Strategic Culture

I was amusing myself with reading through some old threads here, and realised that there are a few things I'll need to revise. I wanted to tell the story of why: Another member here brought this video to my attention a little while ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF9KretXqJw It is a lecture giv...

Re: Xenomorph and Pulse Rifles

In the first Alien rpg, made by Leading Edge, both ammo types had the same penetration and damage, but for explosive ammo, damage after armor reduction, was multiplied by 4. Maybe a bit much in this version of Alien, but worth considering since there should be a difference. Also, it was illegal to ...

Re: Future licensed games?

... the current situation in Ukraine makes the prospect of running T2K a little too depressing for me. Plus, I don't think a "modern day" military RPG would appeal to any of my friends/players, either. But if the system were adjusted to a slightly more distant (if equally disturbing) post...
